Day 3: Well, it's a day.

Workout

Up to 300 total jumps today! Hard to believe that before long, that will be only 1/5 or 1/6 of the daily total. (Egad!) I was incredibly proud of myself that I was doing 20-40 skips before faltering, and that my last set of 60 skips I managed to do without faltering at all. Boo-yah. Progress!

Food

Nothing exciting to report here. I've not been very hungry today, so eating 1/2 portions has been plenty. I'd started to worry that I needed to be halving my hot tea intake also, which would make me very sad, but I checked in with Patrick and he assured me that I could drink all the water & hot tea I wanted--so, yay on that.

Emotions

Woke up feeling very "meh" today. Kind of down, but not to an extreme... just "meh." I felt a bit sluggish and foggy, and I took a nap this afternoon. Woke up feeling a wee bit improved, and went ahead and got my workout done. It's kind of gray and depressing outside, so I'm guessing that's probably playing into my overall "meh" feeling.

Celebrations

I'm pleased that I did my workout, rather than letting the urge to be sluggish win out. I'm tickled that I am improving at skipping rope. I'm happy that cutting out daily sweets (which I did about 2 or 2 1/2 weeks ago) seems to be taking hold, and that I'm not having sugar cravings like I used to, even when cookies and ice cream--two of my biggest cravings-inducers--are nearby. Yay!

  1. Well done on the skipping (jump-rope) exercises. I've managed to find the one place in the house were I can skip without hitting anything. I put on some music and then see how many I can do without getting the rope caught on my feet. Managed a full 60 yesterday before promptly becoming entangled on my next set. Ah well!

  2. If cookies and ice cream being "nearby" means a walk to the refrigerator, I would HIGHLY suggest getting rid of those items from your house entirely. As a food addict, I find that I MUST surround myself with only good food. Otherwise, just as a smoker will ultimately succumb to a half-used pack of cigarettes if left lying around, I will always be beaten by the candy in the cupboard, pizza in the refrigerator or cheeseburger on the menu when I promised myself I'd order the grilled chicken sandwich!

  3. Hi Marissa,

I also imagine the day we will be making a thousand jumps, sweating and looking cool like Rocky.

Congratulations on your strength and becoming free of sugar cravings.

  4. 300 jumps? Awesome. Followed by a boo-yah? Even better.

And I'm proud of you for showing up, too.

  5. @Nickety: Digital High-Five on the 60-skip streak! :)

@Alex: I do not have cookies around the house--haven't replenished my supply since pre-Christmas! I have some single-serve ice cream containers in my deep freeze, but I can honestly say they haven't even caught my attention for a while--before I even started actively avoiding desserts. I forgot about them until just now. I should probably just pitch them.

@Lili: I'll withhold declaring my look as being "cool" for the time being... lol... but I will certainly be hearing "Eye Of The Tiger" in my head as our total jumps increase!

@Charlie: Thank you. You're always good at re-enforcing the celebrations. :)
